Notes

Composed by J. S. Bach, arranged by Ian Deterling.

  • Little” Fugue in G Minor is one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s most popular works for organ. This arrangement is a faithful adaptation of the original with slight modifications to make it more accessible for clarinet ensemble. The memorable themes and magnificent countermelodies will make this dark fugue a wonderful addition to your next concert!

Instrumentation:

  • Clarinet in Eb

  • Clarinet in Bb 1-4

  • Alto Clarinet in Eb

  • Bass Clarinet in Bb

  • Contrabass Clarinet

    • Note: Clarinet in Eb and Clarinet in Bb 1 double each other - as do Clarinet in Bb 4 with Alto Clarinet in Eb and Bass Clarinet in Bb with Contrabass Clarinet (sometimes at 8vb). Although they are written in different staves in the score and have separate parts, they should be treated as the 'Clarinet in Eb / Clarinet in Bb 1' part rather than independent parts or divisi.
