Misterioso, Op. 15b for clarinet ensemble - Consortium 2025
I’m excited to announce a new commissioning opportunity — a consortium for a new work for clarinet ensemble, titled Misterioso, Op. 15b!

This dark and brooding piece will draw upon melodies and harmonies from the second movement of my Duet in D-flat Major, Op. 15. Evoking the mysterious ambiance of old dark houses, castle ruins, and haunted graveyards, it will be perfect for concerts around Halloween - though its expressive and cinematic mood will fit year-round performances as well.
The piece will be approximately five minutes in length and graded at Level 4 (according to the American Band College Music Grading Chart), Misterioso is ideal for advanced high school ensembles, collegiate clarinet choirs, community groups, and professionals.
To give you a sense of what the piece will be like, I’ve already completed the opening section (approximately 1:30 in length) and created a brief score video. This preview allows you to follow the notated score while listening to a virtual audio mockup, offering an early impression of the work’s overall character, texture, and style:

Exclusive performance rights (March 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027)
The world premiere will be given by consortium leader Margali Grenier and the Plattsburgh Clarinet Choir in February 2026 (exact date TBD). Consortium members may begin scheduling their own performances starting March 1, 2026, and will retain exclusive performance rights through March 31, 2027. After that date, the work will be released for general purchase at $40.
