Terms and Conditions for Sheet Music Purchases

Effective date: May 28, 2025

Copyright Notice

All original compositions sold on this site are the sole property of the composer and are protected by copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of these works is strictly prohibited.

Some works offered here are arrangements of pieces that are in the public domain. While the source material is not copyrighted, the arrangements themselves represent original, creative work and are fully protected by copyright. These arrangements may not be copied, shared, or redistributed without permission.

License for Use

Your purchase grants you a non-transferable license to use the sheet music for yourself and/or your ensemble only. This license includes the right to:

  • Download and store the sheet music for personal or ensemble use.

  • Print copies as needed only for your own rehearsals and performances.

Delivery of Files

All works on this website are delivered digitally as PDF documents. After your order has been processed, you will receive an email with a download link allowing you to access and print your sheet music immediately.
Please note:

  • Some works have the score and parts separated into different PDF files (generally larger pieces with more parts).

  • Some works are grouped together in a single PDF file (generally smaller pieces with fewer parts).

  • The sheet music will be stamped with a watermark in the bottom left corner to help discourage illegal file sharing. This watermark will not interfere with readability.

Restrictions

It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Share PDF or printed copies with others outside your ensemble.

  • Email, upload, or distribute the files to third parties.

  • Post the sheet music online, including on forums, social media, or file-sharing platforms.

  • Reproduce, modify, or adapt the material for commercial use without express written permission.

Adaptations and Derivative Works

If you wish to adapt, arrange, or create derivative works based on any pieces sold on this site, you must obtain prior written permission from the composer.

Performance Rights

Purchasing sheet music from this site does not include performance rights for public concerts, recordings, or broadcasts. If your performance takes place in a licensed venue (such as a school, concert hall, or festival), it is typically the responsibility of the venue or organization to report the performance to a performing rights organization.

All works and arrangements sold on this website are registered with ASCAP, under Ian Deterling as composer/arranger and Deterling Music as publisher. Reporting performances to ASCAP ensures proper credit and compensation, and supports the ongoing creation of new music.

Why This Matters

Composers and arrangers rely on the sale of their work for their livelihood. Unauthorized duplication—by any method—is not only illegal, it also undermines the continued creation of new music for performers and educators. Please support the artists who make your performances possible by respecting copyright and encouraging others to do the same.

Refund Policy

Because sheet music is a digital product, all sales are final. However, if you experience any issues with your download or believe you received the wrong file, please contact us and we’ll gladly work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the website or purchase of materials constitutes acceptance of any changes. Please review this page periodically to stay informed of any updates.
