Program Notes
Composed by Modest Mussorgsky; arranged by Ian Deterling. Published by Deterling Music.
This arrangement of Mussorgsky’s masterpiece, Pictures at an Exhibition, is a tour-de-force for clarinet ensemble. While influenced by Maurice Ravel’s orchestration, I wanted to capture the essence of the original work for piano, as the clarinet family is relatively homogenous.
